01 Mar New space: GJH Builders Office
Right before the 2026 new year, GJH Group wrapped up renovating their office floor for the builders team, and I got to shoot the opening. I’ve been working with them for a few years now, and they’re always great to work with. Good to be back for another milestone.
The new space has this industrial modern thing going on. Exposed concrete, wooden floors and furniture, everything open and airy. Ms. Mayu, a Japanese interior designer, led the project and was there for the opening. Her thoughtful approach really shows in how everything flows together. What got me about the design is how open it all is. Even the senior team’s rooms have almost full glass walls looking out to where everyone works. Says something about the trust and openness in how they run things.
The opening started with a prayer and firecrackers, then the team director, Mr. Lim rolled a pineapple into the office, that gesture symbolising good fortune and a prosperous beginning. After that came breakfast and lunch for everyone. The team prepared a generous breakfast spread with lots of variety, all locally sourced. The Malay cuisine luncheon followed right after to keep everyone satisfied. Guests walked around checking out the space, and the team was there to welcome everyone. A good celebration for a new chapter.
A big thank you to Mr. Yeow, who leads GJH Group, for continuing to trust me with documenting these moments over the years. Also a first for both of us: he gave me the very first Horse angpow with their own design. First one he gave out, first one I received.
Small note to Ms. Tan as well, thank you for always coordinating and making everything smooth.
